A growth area for us over the last few years has been in the Auto Electrical side of things, specifically the fitout of 4WDs with any number of lights, antennas, and any number of other accessories. Our workshop manager is also a fully qualified auto electrician whch ensures that all our 12V installations are performed to exceed industry standards and give maximum reliability.
A 79 Series Land Cruiser with a custom canopy, this was our rear power distribution centre that sat above the dual secondary batteries. The client had an enormous wishlist that meant we had to be careful with planning our order of operations to avoid running cables multiple times. We also had to factor in multiple power sources, as he planned to use his vehicle alternator, an external generator, and both fixed and movable solar panels all interchangably to charge the secondary batteries.
This Jeep Wrangler was an interesting setup. The winch had been fitted with the bumper bar but the lights all needed doing, and the customer required around 9 different antennas installed across the car, most of which ended up mounted securely to the roof racks. The biggest challenge was then keeping all of those coax cables neat and waterproof as we run them into the cabin, but we managed to keep things tidy and our client very happy.
