What is a “SmartTOP”

Developed by mods4cars in the US, the SmartTOP range of products are designed to introduce quality-of-life improvements into vehicles with convertible roofs. Designed for DIY installation using custom harnesses that plug directly into the car, the SmartTOP modules are a must-have for any convertible owner.

What does it actually do?

The SmartTOP modules support a wide range of features, such as:

• Roof operation remotely from the factory key

• One-touch operation of the roof from the original switch

• Invertion of the factory switch behaviour

• Roof operation while driving forwards (at low speeds)

• Roof operation will not be affected by starting/turning off the car

• And many other small vehicle improvements

These features are vehicle dependent, and your car may only support a subset of the above list.

The installation process:

While some vehicles are easier than others, nearly all of the SmartTOP modules come with plug-and-play harnesses that connect directly into the vehicle electronics. There is an extensive database of installation instructions that we provide to our clients, as well as over the phone support if something is behaving strangely. If you don’t feel comfortable removing panels or installing the module yourself, we do also install these modules in Melbourne, and have a network of reliable workshops around the country that can assist.
